This practical guide, intended for designers and building owners, is partly financed by DG Tren European Commission (ALTENER programme) under contract number 1.1030/Z/01-104/2001. The objective is to disseminate knowledge of best innovative practice derived from 15 housing demonstration sites across Europe. The focus is on renewable energy, but also including examples of best practice concerning energy efficiency. All projects were demonstration projects under the EC SUNH and SHINE programmes.
