Shutters are moveable devices that cover openings in a building such as windows. They are very versatile and used in many different climates. Shutters can perform a number of functions:

Shutters are not always solid devices like in the image above. They may have fixed or moveable louvres integrated into them to allow light and air flow. Used correctly, shutters can help reduce the building's energy consumption and provide a better indoor climate for the occupants.
